Happy Thanksgiving 2009
On this day of giving Thanks I decided I should write my own list of 15 things I’m Thankful For Today.
1. The most important thing I’m thankful for this year was receiving the good news that my daughter Amber’s 1 year battle with Stage IV Papillary Thyroid Cancer is over and that the cancer is in remission. She can now once again move forward in her life to fulfill her hopes and dreams for the future as well as complete some of mine that I’ve always envisioned for her.
2. My Daughter Jennifer who continues to amaze me with her wit & humor even though she doesn’t always see the smiles or know of the laughter inside of me later when I ponder her words.
3. Ken, for being my keeper – lol – he never fails to make sure I’m awake on time to get to work, and other misc things he does for me on a daily basis and for allowing me to be me and the free spirit I am.
4. My Cats, Sebastian & Shadoe who are an endless source of amusement, love, companionship
5. Houp, for always believing in me – ever since I was 15 years old. My life has been enriched just by being able to say he’s my friend.
6. Joe, although contact has been rare and random over the last 2 years I always feel his presence in my life on a very deep spiritual level. I’m in awe of his convictions, beliefs and integrity that he leads his life with. I am Thankful for the friendship, love and support he has given Amber over the past year as she battled her cancer and other obstacles that life threw her way.
7. My Parents & other Family members even though I am not close to them in many ways, my life and world are alien to them, I am happy to know they are still here with me and relatively happy & healthy.
8. Brent, I’m glad you are back in my life even though the chance we will ever meet in the real world is slim to none I find the prodding to be a invalueable tool to keep focused and gives me someone to talk about the biz with and other issues that affect our lives.
9. David – first for being my friend even though you have always wanted to steal Sebastian from me – lol – and for hosting my web sites during my almost 2 year stretch of inactivity in the Internet world. Hopefully soon I will be able to start kicking some money your way to help with the server bill.
10. Tom, one of the first “strangers” I met in the real world that actually knew what I did for a living prior to working with him at the convenience store. Thank You for the understanding, conversations and sharing and for helping me get back into rebuilding my business.
11. Dale for always being there as a friend, dropping whatever he is doing to help me with coding/database issues and for conversation and laughter he brings to my life.
12. Maria for being such a fantastic example to follow at work. All the qualities I admire in a person – Hard Working, Dedicated, Honest, Trustworthy and treated me with respect and as a friend and equal even though she was my manager. We made a good team and I hated when you left but I always knew that it was the right move for you. I miss being part of your team.
13. Kristen, my boss at the convenience store for not terminating me when I quit and walked out, who the next day offered me an open ended offer to come back in a few weeks or months which I did 5 weeks after I walked because I found I missed the people. I feel i now have the ideal balance in my life between working there for the social aspects and the time i need to rebuild my own business.
14. I am Thankful for all my Friends not specifically listed here – every one of you has touched my life and has become better because you have shared your life with me, if your reading this – you know who you are 
15. I’m Thankful that I have a roof over my head, food on the table, a car that works and the future continues to look brighter for all of us over the upcoming years.
